Case study - Professional consulting
KCS were asked to assist a professional consulting firm with sixty staff, half of which worked directly from the business’s customer sites on consulting assignments.
The organisation is located at an office which had limited internet connectivity because of the distance from the telephone exchange and with sixty staff requiring fast remote access, KCS were asked to provide a strategy for collaboration that would work securely from anywhere.
KCS implemented a SharePoint system for the secure collaboration and exchange of documents, with the information hosted in a Datacentre so this did not impact on the broadband connection for the main office. This allowed staff to securely access this from their web browser on any PC and work together on the same file versions.
In addition, following KCS’s recommendation, the organisation reviewed all third party applications, with customer data stored in five different programmes, to consolidate this to one portal, allowing seamless straightforward access from one location to everything needed.
Through the use of smart telephony, incoming calls now use the computer system to automatically link up to the customers’ record, so that before the telephone is answered the customer services representative already has the person’s name and most recent contact history at their fingertips.
This has significantly improved customer feedback as a result of not having to look for information and the proactive use of IT has saved significant time for all team members.
