Case Study –¬†Manufacture

KCS were asked to assist an industrial firm in the management of their network and production facilities and their sales order processing system in order to streamline the flow of customer and sales data. The business was an electronics manufacturing facility with service provision and a national client base. They have three servers and forty users based in London.

KCS were asked to consider the most appropriate software to integrate three individual customer databases, website contact information, email and online marketing, direct mail marketing and telephone system in order to ensure customer information was at the fingertips of the sales staff and that service calls and sales orders could be seamlessly integrated with the accounts information stored in Sage.

KCS recommended a Cloud based software and assisted in the integration of the system using a CTI (Computer Telephone Interface) so that customer records were automatically brought up on screen when a telephone number was read from an incoming line before the call was answered. The rationalisation of software from various databases has not only improved staff productivity and customer service but has minimised the ongoing licensing cost and support cost as a number of software packages could be dispensed with.

In addition KCS were asked to advise on CCTV in the factory in order to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and site security requirements. KCS project-managed the installation of CCTV and its integration with the network, enabling the key-holders to access the CCTV remotely from home when an alarm distress signal was received. The system also allows proactive monitoring of the facility during the working day.
